Well, this entry will be different from others; Can you see why?
Recently, Binary Ant Punto Es, a blog from my Seo’s list, closed its doors. Really I should say, that he changed his write rhythm only. And now, Binary Ant Punto Es only has a few post monthly.
Why he “semi-closed” his blog? Simple, he tried to do more than he could do. He tried to do the next step from a blogger and become a English’s written blogger.
It’s a great idea, i think, but the problems become at first. One blog and two languages or one blog for each language? And then, born Binary Ant Dot Com. With two blogs to admin. A Twitter account for each language. Have to translate every post… So many work.
Finally, this was unsustainable, and the solution; stop to write in Spanish… Only English version available.
I think this is a better idea. This will help his English and put in another league, another higher league.
Now, I think. Why discard Spanish blog?? I accept that have a blog is quite complicated as to have two. Two twitter is “stupid” (without offending), but why do I need two blogs?
As you can see, my blog will be described as a “great black box” in which I keep all kind of things, personal, design, seo, programming… Why don’t add English posts?? Why can’t coexist both languages?
Yes, I know that is better for SEO separate niche information in different sites. But I think that, for this, now exists the categories and tags. If a person only want to see Zend information and arrive at this blog, he only has to click at the Zend category (or subscribe to their feed), and then he only see Zend information. And, in the other side, there are a person who enters in my blog.
IMHO, if you collect all the information in one place, you can congregate a great number of visits and having located the site for several keywords.
And, why will not be equal to the languages? If you can configure your blog for use with two languages (At this time, I don’t know any plugin that could do this). Why don’t you have a multilingual blog??
Well, In honor to Binary Ant Dot Com, I will try to do this… I will try to do a multilingual blog…

Como bien dice Binary Ant… Si cometo algún fallo, no solo que no os dé apuro comentarlo. Sino que DEBÉIS decimerlo! (En especial la bilingüe que de vez en cuando me lee.. Aunque no sabe muy bien lo que lee a veces)

vamos con el spanish.
Como dije en la pseudodespedida mi problema fue el tedio de hacer dos veces la misma cosa. Por respeto a la gente que no habla inglés y a la gente que no habla español, aunque también por quality content, quise hacer una división total entre los dos blogs en todos los sentidos, hasta tal punto ambos están alojados en continentes diferentes.
Si tu target no conoce el español, o el inglés, veo muy contraproducente mostrarles mensajes que no entienden, por eso tb hice dos cuentas de Twitter. Es como si me hago follower de un japones que habla español y la mitad de sus tweets los hace en japonés, automáticamente dejo de ser su follower porque no me gusta recibir mensajes que NO entiendo.
Mi motivo no fue la carga de trabajo, fue el aburrimiento, y tengo que reconocer que me sentí bastante mal por la gente que me seguia.
Pero bueno, el blog .es está en estado de hibernación, nunca se sabe lo que pasará más adelante

Lo primero es que me encanta lo de la “pseudodespedida” una palabra bastante adecuada
Como bien dices, el principal problema, pienso que es el “quality content”, ya que al tener demasiado de todo, no tienes de nada. Pero a cambio, en el otro lado, te toca el tedio de tener que repetir…
Ahora, yo creo que en un blog con contenidos medianamente técnicos no debería haber ningún problema al compaginar la lengua mater del escritor con el inglés… Vamos, pocos informáticos conozco yo que solo lean artículos en español y quieran estar al día
También te digo que, teniendo en cuenta la mítica frase de “aldea global”, deberíamos pensar que no solo hay un lenguaje, ni un páis… O al escribir en español solo piensas en escribir para los españoles? Supongo que aceptar la expresión implica aceptar más cosas. No se… En ese aspecto, el respeto a los lectores que comentas, por otro lado más que necesario e importante, implica la especialización y encorsetamiento de un blog. Por poner un ejemplo, en tu blog, BinaryAnt, si decidieses parar de hablar durante un par de post de tecnología, y empezases a hablar de tu vida personal, o del “crecimiento exponencial de la ameba en el último siglo” supongo que también podríamos hablar de falta de respeto al lector especifico del blog… No sé, todo esto son divagaciones

Sinceramente, los que te seguimos, no tuvimos ningún problema en meter al lector de feeds el dotCom y leerlo encantados
Todo esto supongo que podría llegar a llenar foros y foros… O dar lugar a escribir post y post….
